While working at Tipastype in 2018, I designed and developed Especial, a custom typeface commissioned for the communication of a specific product within the portfolio of a Mexican national beer brand. Inspired by Copperplate calligraphy, the typeface expands the visual language of the brand's original logotype into a functional type system. It includes a basic Latin character set for Spanish and a collection of alternate glyphs that introduce stylistic variation and decorative richness.
